S$92,000 was raised, thanks to Konica-Minolta who paid for all expenditures so that the full sum could be handed over to UNICEF in Aug 2005.

We wanted to show to donors how their money benefited the children, but the civil war had intensified. Finally there was a cease fire in Mar 2006...in the night of our arrival, minister's house was bombed, cease fire cancelled...

..."Mummy I had a nightmare, you were caught by monster"... Instead of leaving the civil war to look after her children back home, she chose to follow her husband.

Donors money were used for printing 300,000 (30cents each) cartoon booklets to share with parents and children topics of gender equality, importance of education, removal of caste system etc...

We also brought some books for the families...children and parents were overjoyed when they saw that poor people like them, who had not taken a picture could now appear in a UNICEF book...

...they lived in a different world, babies in the remote villages were delivered my grandma using a US35cents "delivery kit"...

...working environment were totally not suitable for children.

The cartoon booklet was just like a door gift and it does not change their lives. We then produced a calendar using the plights of these children and then came back as family to help them...
